This time of the year the Italian furniture fair turns the city of Milan upside down. The “Salone del Mobile” is a very special moment for the design and fashion capital of Italy.

Designers, buyers, architects, creative people from all over the world come to Milan to enjoy not just the fair, but the entire city. All over the place there are exhibitions, aperitivos, parties.

Milan becomes the most cosmopolite city in April. And the party is (mostly) open to the public. Not behind hidden walls like the fashion week.

Definetely a great time to visit Milan – even if you are not part of the design crowd. But there is one big hurdle: finding a hotel room.
