You think you know Italy. But do you know Abruzzo ?

It is an Italian region not far from Tuscany, only an hour drive from Rome and one of the less known, but most beautyfull regions of Italy. It has 331 kilometers (1186 miles) of coastline and the highest mountains (almost 3000 meters /10 000 feet) of Central Italy`s Appenin.

Along the southern coast you can find these traditional fishing houses built on the water. They are called “trabocco”. And nowadays some of them have become restaurants with a spectacular view on the sea, like the Trabocco Valle Grotte, which you see in the picture.
